Well... Im trying to get FedoraCore3 working with Audio... ive used Fedora for quite some time but never tried to get audio working before... I used Fedora since FC1 but surprisingly enough never used any audio... Now I want to listen to MP3s and watch movies and crap with MPlayer or XMMS or Helix Player but am not sure what exactly I need to do..... Im using onboard audio from a Intel 915 Grantsdale chipset & ICH-6.. Under GStreamer preferences ALSA is selected for default sink and default source but when clicking test it says failed to construct test pipeline for 'ALSA....' I think from FedoraFAQ I can get XMMS and the media player with mp3 codecs working but no audio is working hwo do I getALSA working properkly
FedoraCore3 is having troubles detecting the onboard audio, so I installed a Creative Labs Audigy 2, which will hopefully be detected im just reinstalling FC3 right now... On the ALSA sheet I see it supports the Audigy2 ZS and other Creative Labns cards so hopefully ALSA will workwith that.

Errrr ... we need a lot more information about your pc and your problem (for example: your sound card, your motherboard, etc) before we can help.
You probably need to install the latest alsa drivers.
HEY Thanks for replyin but sorry for the delay from my side,,,,my sound card is VIA-SHIPSET,,,,VIA and the kernel identifies its drivers as snd-via82xx...........and I have Athlon XP,processor
And there is one problem,,,,,,Video is also choppy ,,,it drops frames,,,,,I feel it is something to do with Bits persecond in AUDIO and FRAMES PER SECOND in VIDeo .....so If u have any IDEA about these ,,,,please help me out
