slow ???
without more info it might be that you only have 256 meg ram ? or you are running a old Pentium 3 cpu .

or you turned on compiz-fusion ?

slow as compared to what ?

2.6.32.14-127.fc12 kernel

slow means to open a folder it takes about 5 minutes , click on any menu(system, applications) to display it it takes also 5 or more minutes.

Can u tell me more about compiz if it is one which can hang my laptop??

then HOW did you update Fedora 12 and the kernel ?

? was the update from the normal yum updates ?
Code:
yum update
or some other way
did you install any drivers BUT did not install them using yum
like a nvidia.run or the ATI one

have you rebooted ?
