xfce4 lost keyboard layout, (testing)

Hya,

System
Debian testing with xfce4. Standard keyboard, locale is set to English. System update about once a week.

Situation
Keyboard layout got screwed up.
Alphabets and numbers are OK, symbols arrowkeys are not. All keys work well at console.

So far
xfce4 keyboard setup, system default or custom setting -> nothing changes.
/var/log/Xorg.0.log detects correct keyboard.
xev detects incorrect keysym
I have not figured out which wrong keymap is in use.

Tentative workaround
Remove ~/.Xmodmap

For some reason, I use .Xmodmap
I guess something has changed with Xmodmap.

Closing remark
Happy Penguins!

Hya,

Additional info:

The .Xmodmap file has been sitting quite a while.

May be related to this report.

I will update once I revise .Xmodmap file.

Happy Penguins!
