WiFi in Debian Etch with 2915ABG in a Lifebook P7120

Hi,

First post! After running Ubuntu for a while, I recently installed Debian Etch on my Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook P7210 laptop, called 'aart'. Except WiFi it works great, including the wired network. Now I'm trying to get my wireless working with my Linksy WRT54GL accesspoint. Wireless was working great in Ubuntu, however in Debian it doesn't, although it finds the 2915ABG controller:

Code:
aart:~# lspci |grep Netw
06:05.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection (rev 05)
iwconfig thinks there's no WiFi:
Code:
lo no wireless extensions.
eth1 no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions.
sit0 no wireless extensions.
Anyone an idea how to make my WiFi work?
Thanx in advance,
Packetloss

Ps. Some more information:

Code:
aart:~# lsmod |grep ipw2200
ipw2200 93824 0
ieee80211 29416 1 ipw2200
firmware_class 9600 2 pcmcia,ipw2200
Code:
aart:~# uname -a
Linux aart 2.6.18-4-686 #1 SMP Wed May 9 23:03:12 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux
Code:
aart:~# grep -v '#' /etc/udev/rules.d/z25_persistent-net.rules

tsss...works!! After trying for hours and hours, I read:

"You need to place all of these files into the hotplug firmware directory, e.g. /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/ or /lib/firmware/."
on this site.
After placing the files in /lib/firmware/ and rebooting, the interface works!
Hope this can be of any help for someone else.
