why is system:/media empty in my KDE of debian sid?

I have installed udev, pmount, dbus and hal,and udev, pmount, dbus and hald are running.
I have added the current user into 'plugdev' group.

It can automount flash disk in system:/media.
All hard disk partition are not in system:/media.

I have searched so long and asked on irc so many times. But it still can't be solved.

Thank you very much!

I would check to make sure you have the KDE -plugins packages installed starting with the kdebase-kio-plugins then the kfile ones, kdemultimedia ...

There was a bug in hal 0.5.8.1-1 that caused the same problem for me. None of the partitions on the first hard drive would show up. But it was fixed in hal 0.5.8.1-3
