Unhappy Want to play music and movie without installing KNOPPIX in the Harddisk

I am want to play music and movie straight from the CD.

I have 2 CD-ROM installed as IDE-secondary-master and IDE-secondary-slave. I put the knoppix bootable CD in secondary-master. It loaded the knoppix and every application can be used.

I want to play music from the CD, so i place the CD in the secondary-slave.
But, i cant seem to mount the secondary-slave, so that I can play music from the CD. How to mount the 2nd CD and play music directly from the CD.

Anyone, please help me. Thanks in advance.

You cannot mount music CDs -- they have no filesystem to mount. Have you tried KDE's CD Player?

So which application should I use?

Thanks in advance.

If you try xmms, then you should have AudioCD Reader plugins enable on Audio I/O Preferences.
This can be access by right clicking on XMMS gui --> Option --> Preferences.

Hope that help

cheers,

The biggest problem is that I can not reader the data in the CD-RW. I can only burn CD using CD-RW.

Therefore how can XMMS reader the cda files in the CD-RW. I have try to set the preference in XMMS but still can not. Same goes with VCD.

How to mount the CD-RW source.

Please help. I am try to use KNOPPIX as a desktop. So, the problem now is I can not listen to song or watch movie.

It is very confusing on the KNOPPIX structure.

thanks in advance
