untarring into squeeze

I want to untar specific back-up data into my new squeeze system.
kde is my preference, and it is what I used on my deleted system. However, on squeeze they have changed their file names and locations. Aggravating! What used to be /home/edhe/......odt is now /home/edhe/Documents/....odt

I am still trying to find where korganizer stores its data. I used that a lot.
I also want to copy my bookmarks, but /.mozilla/b6......../share/bookmarks.html are not what shows on my iceweasel bookmarks drop down.

On my old - the icedove folders - are at /home/edhe/.mozilla-thunderbird/b79bor0j.default/Mail/Local Folders

On the new squeeze they are stored at /.icedove/f2708h2e.default/Mail/Local Folders

Would this command work:

tar -xzvpPk --keep-newer-files -f hebrews....tgz --no-overwrite-dir --restrict /home/edhe/.mozilla-thunderbird/b79bor0j.default/Mail/Local Folders/* --to-command=/.icedove/f2708h2e.default/Mail/Local Folders

I generally recommend that you don't extract files to directly
overwrite your existing files. Try extracting the tarball into
/tmp and then move files and directories to the new location.

When you have directories like b79bor0j.default that don't exist
on your current system, look for a file or directory within it
and search for that name in your current system. It will let
you see the new directory if it exists. For example:

find /home/edhe -name Mail
