I want to run Debian jessie cinnamon and I want full control. So I downloaded a netinstall CD and installed xorg muffin and cinnamon-common and cinnamon.
Everything works perfecly, but there is something I don't like: my window buttons for example are squared it looks as if GTK is not installed (which is). I've searched the web but didn't find anything useful. In other words I want Debian to look as Linux Mint. I have my reasons to not using Mint . .
As I said I want full control and pretty much understand what is installed etc.
Indeed I had too few themes installed.
I solved it by using:
Code:
sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines
You then get a lot of themes in /usr/share/themes.
Now I can go to preferences -> themes -> other settings and change the controls and window borders.
And yes I have examined Linux Mint Debian Edition but then you get too much software I don't use.
Besides I have printed a hard copy of the Debian administrators guide and run Debian LXDE on an other machine so it's all Debian for me :-)
