tuxboot into debian stable repositories

Hello,

I have been using gparted a lot, I must say, and it would be great to have tuxboot for linux debian stable.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/tuxboot/?source=dlp

I know that it is still not considered for the moment, but it would be really needed to install linux on machines and use gparted.

Partitioning without gparted for newbies is hard, so please.... an help to include it.

Thanks

Hi,

are you saying you want tuxboot to be included in Debian? If so, then you can submit a RFP (Request For Package) bug. See http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/

Are you aware that unetbootin is in Debian? It seems that tuxboot is just a fork. Does it do something that unetbootin does not?

Not really

Tuxboot is much sleeker, simpler, and works better for gparted!!

I really advices to add it to our repos

So it does do pretty much the same thing.

If it is so important to you then go ahead and file the bug as I suggested. Putting such a request here is pointless.

Note however that even if some DD does decide to package it for Debian, it will not go into the current stable release.

not really the same things

There are lot of users that like to have sthg simple and efficient to use to install Linux.

tuxboot is ideal for beginners to install gparted, clonezilla, ...

Unetbootin is different
