I'm running sarge on my laptop with 16 megs of ram, and about 50 megs free disk space. I have read that there exists an X server called TinyX, which is very lightweight, but I can't seem to figure out how to get it.
What is the preferred method of getting this program working (is it available though apt, or must it all be done manually)?

apt-cache search tiny
Look for your package there. Make sure you have non-free and contrib in your repositories.
The tinyx package has been gone for a while now. The package name was xserver-tinyx-fbdev. I don't know exactlty when or why it was removed, nor where it could be found now. Searching on Google was inconclusive.
thanks, dastrike. You saved me from continung on a giant wild-goose chase.
Could you recommend what I should do? I am afraid of not using apt & borking my carefully configured system. Should I find the woody package for this and just use dpkg, or would it be better to do something else?
im interested in getting tinyx and it turns out it now goes under many names. but instead of using tinyx this site recommend you use xvesa which is the same but with a few extra lil tid-bits. more info here:
