timeoutd

Hi guys.
I am implementing a simple booking system using timeoutd.
The goal is to give a particular user a certain time slot of X session.
But it seems this daemon can only control tty session.
In particular, it may kick out a user from a terminal session,
but what I want is having the user logout X session(back to login screen).

Has anyone used this program before?
Did I miss something?
Is X session also a tty process?

Is there other program can do this?

It is quite urgent, any help would be very much appreciated.

terminals opened in X have a tty also.

The way to archieve what you want depends on how do you do the starting the X session. If users log in from console and run startx from there, you could just watch the underlying login console. If you are using an X session manager, you can configure the timeoutd to check X login access in the start of X session by putting an own file to /etc/X11/Xsession.d/
