settings won't save

HI there!

Since upgrading to debian etc from sarge, my settings don't save. For instance, I trya nd play a tune in XMMS and it does nowt, well it looks like it plays but no sound comes out. I run Alsoconf (thanks to this board for letting me know that existed!) and it's great. Then if I restart my pc, it's gone again. Same goes for things like TVTime, and others i think.

any ideas?

whooooooooo hoooooooooooooo!

Run the command as root ' alsactl store ' once you have the volumes levels where you want it.
