I thought I was gonna be smart and copy the setup files from the Bit Defender live CDrom over to my knoppix hard drive installation and then edit all the files and paths so it would work for me on the hard drive...
I have the commandline scanner installed already and am interested in getting the gui and the log demon, I beleive there is a live scanner in there also, something like nortons autoprotect that starts at boot and scans every file and file operation on the machine as it occurs or before it occurs as it were...
However, I editted all kinds of files and removed refernce to $RDIR
So I deleted the second line and then everyn instance of $RDIR I could find in that file
I also renamed all the files/folders so that they were appropriate (deleting .disk from most of them) AND creatd folders in opt/BitDefender as necessary...
When I try and run the bdsetup.sh I get the following:
/opt/BitDefender/etc/setup# ./bdsetup.sh
"From" address - the notification and virus warnings will be sent from
this address (default=bitdefender@sylvester):
/opt/BitDefender/bin/bdsetup: error while loading shared libraries: libxreg.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
"Ev3" address - the warning mails will be sent to this address
(default=postmaster@sylvester):
/opt/BitDefender/bin/bdsetup: error while loading shared libraries: libxreg.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Do you want to enable sender/receiver alerts (default=no) [yes/no]:
We need to change the password for the remote administration console (login as "admin"):
/opt/BitDefender/bin/bdsetup: error while loading shared libraries: libxreg.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
For more information on the configuration settings in
/opt/BitDefender/etc/bdsettings.xml, please consult the product manual.
Anybody else care to take a crack at it or just give me some more suggestins, I'm running outta patience over here...?
Oh yeah, I looked for reference to the libxreg.so file in all the files I coud find that weren't compiled and it just ins't there, could it be hard coded into the executable or am I missing something obvious here..the file resides in /opt/BitDefender/lib/ as a default on the Bit Defender (knoppix) live cd installation cdrom...
One more thing, when I start bdgtk (the gui) it opens with the quarantine path already set to RAMDISK/path/to/quarantine , I have changed this in the bdsettings.xml file and it doesn't seem to have made any difference to the program...
Cheers again,
I'm tired, I've worked on this for four hours now and gotten no further than when I started, I don't really know that much about linux, just general stuff, if I remember anything else I'll post it
