I just put together a new machine and tried to put Debian on it. I grabbed the
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/...-i386-CD-1.iso and started the install process but the installer won't recognize my SATA CD-ROM drive.
It tells me:
Quote:
No common CD-ROM drive was detected.
You may need to load additional CD-ROM drivers from a driver floppy. If you have such a floppy available now, put it in the drive, and continue. Otherwise, you will be given the option to manually select CD-ROM modules.
Load CD-Rom drivers from a driver floppy?
<Yes> <No>

Kinda sucks. And I tried the recommended method of appending libata.atapi_enabled=1 to the boot option but nothing changed.
Any ideas? Is there a special module I need? It's a Samsung Writemaster CD/DVD drive...
Thanks.
