Redshift / nightlight software for Xfce

Can anyone recommend any nightlight software like Redshift for Debian 11 Xfce?

It appears it doesn't work with Wayland. I have tried other programs like sct but they don't work either, they all say they can't connect to Wayland.

Is there any software like Redshift that works in Debian Xfce?

OR is it possible to return to Xorg on Xfce?

gammastep, which they also recommend, doesn't work either. It just says this:

Code:
Error: Could not connect to wayland display, exiting
Error: Failed to start adjustment method: wayland

there is a link to a git repo at the bottom, that may help too.

Thanks, but that link also says:

The Wayland protocol does not support Redshift. There is currently no way for Redshift to adjust the color temperature in Wayland.
They suggest changing DE to GNOME or Plasma. I am not going to do that, I need something that works with Xfce.

Failing that, it would be great to use X11 instead of Wayland for Xfce 4.16, but I can't work out how to do that either.

OK, I have solved this. It is nothing to do with Xfce. Debian 11 uses Wayland by default when it can.

The solution was to switch back to X11 in /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
