quick menu question...

since im going to be developing i installed kde, and xfce along with gnome to test the applications on. when i installed kde it added a bunch of kde apps to my gnome menu. is there a way to restore the menu back to just the gnome apps other than having to go in by hand and removing every entry?

thanks,
nomb

http://standards.freedesktop.org/menu-spec/latest/

Edit /etc/xdg/menus/gnome-applications
And place a "NOT category KDE" to each submenu of Applications

PHP Code:
  <Menu>
    <
Name>Accessories</Name>
    <
Directory>Accessories.directory</Directory>
    <Include>
      <And>
        <
Category>Utility</Category>
        <
Not>
          <
Category>System</Category>
        </
Not>
        <
Not>
          <
Category>KDE</Category>
        </
Not>
      </And>
    </Include>
  </
Menu> <!-- End Accessories -->

easy and fast solution

cd /usr/share/applications
tar -cvf kde.tar kde
-- thats all
if you would like to keep some kde entries, save the original kde-dir on a diffrent place and restore just the few entries which should show up in gnome-menues.

regards

1)That won't do anything, you haven't removed the directory

2)Maybe he still wants to use kde?

I would like to keep kde useable for development purposes.

Thank you both, I'm going to give this a try when I get home.
