Protect Gnome Settings by password


hi

I have Lenny with Gnome and would like to protect Gnome settings like "Edit Menus", "Desktop Background", etc. from any changes by password.

Copy the required settings to a skeleton (backup) directory. Then write a script that arranges to copy these settings from their skeleton dir to the user dir. Invoke the script as the last one before logging in, in the rc2.d directory (note: symlink!) Read the man pages and readme files associated...

In the users directory, where else Use your brain, not the keyboard I suggest you'd start with the hidden files in a users directory....
