problems with debian sid

i just installed debian sid and i have a few problems:

1. after changing the locale to UTF8 the default font in the gnome-terminal has changed to:

Code:
img133.exs.cx/img133/613/img012zw6ul.jpg
instead of this:

Code:
shots.osdir.com/slideshows/slideshow.php?release=225&slide=70
i didn't change the default font settings, just changed the locale using the command:
Code:
dpkg-reconfigure localeconf
and now my locale is:
Code:
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE=he_IL.UTF-8
LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=
also i installed the msttcorefonts package. how can i restore the terminal to the previous fonts?

2. after changing the locale only the locale in my user has changed. the root locale has remain as:

Code:
LANG=POSIX
LC_CTYPE="POSIX"
LC_NUMERIC="POSIX"
LC_TIME="POSIX"
LC_COLLATE="POSIX"
LC_MONETARY="POSIX"
LC_MESSAGES="POSIX"
LC_PAPER="POSIX"
LC_NAME="POSIX"
LC_ADDRESS="POSIX"
LC_TELEPHONE="POSIX"
LC_MEASUREMENT="POSIX"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="POSIX"
LC_ALL=
how can i change the locale that it will be the same in all the user profiles?

3. i installed alsa and configure it using alsaconf but from some reason everytime i reboot mu mixer is mute and i have to run:

Code:
amixer set PCM 100 unmute
amixer set Master 100 unmute
how can i configure alsa that i won't have to manually unmute it at every reboot?

thanks

Leo

For the last, run alsamixer and unmute or unmute as you did above. Then do "alsactl store" after it.

I don't use Gnome, but IIRC, you can choose the font you want in the gnome-terminal from the terminal itself (arial in your case).
