Potato 2.2.19 hanging on inetd

Just installed the latest unstable, hanging on boot:

Starting internet superserver: inetd

From googling around, there's an opinion that this is from lack of a recognized loopback. If anyone's gotten around this, love to hear how.

Machine is a Dell D800.

You sure you moved up to Unstable? Potato was the name for the release BEFORE Woody, or the current Stable.

Regardless of the version, what's /etc/network/interfaces look like and the output of dmesg too.

You can always roll a kernel.

Hrm, I'm pretty sure I grabbed it off the link that said "unstable release", but it's possible I misclicked (or maybe just hit an old FTP).

What's the name of the latest unstable network-install ISO dist?

I'd love to hit you with the output of that file - but I can't get it to boot.
