Noob,Etch,HP deskjet printing blank pages!

i have debian etch (Stable rc0) and i have been trying to run my HP Deskjet 3420 printer, i selectedits driver from the list of dirvers.When asked to print, it takes in the page, and pops out the same page BLANK (i checked my printer on m$ its workign fine there)
, lp filename printed a blankpage, lpr filename prints a blank page [just like when i ask kwrite etc to print ]

takes in paper, the cartrige is kida moving on it as if it is printing (also took kinda same time) but not printing.

can you print images or pdfs?

I know that I couldn't get my printer working for the longest time and I finally realized it was because the printer settings didn't have a specified DPI resolution. If you set it, things work fine. That's just my experience.

Are you using HPIJS or HPLIP ? http://www.openprinting.org/show_pri...P-DeskJet_3420
