Hi all.
I am used to work on Network Interface Cards by editing /etc/network/interfaces. Ok so far. I realized that I actually DO NOT know of any command line tool to help out with the problem.
DOH!
I recently realized this since i bumped on a "problem" after installing a server without configuring the NIC in the OS Installation phase. I said "oh well" I will reconfig later when all is up and running. One reason for this is that i was in a different place from the one the server has to be installed in, and I had no clue of the info about the LAN it should be configured into.
So I install Debian then restart and do stuff. Later on I had to reconfig the NIC, obviously, with the right config it was given to me.
i said "oh mamma, i wish i had a cmd line tool to dpkg-reconfigure networking".
So, is there a dpkg-reconfigure which restarts networking all over from scratch. Or a tool I can use?
Thanks ALOT to any hint-er!
