network Down

I installed Gnome 2.8 from experimental....

and whoooom

kernel broken

k, got an older kernel still installed machine working.... however no network....

sorta hard to fix things without net access

but my 8139too module seems to load allright, ifconfig detects my connection, dhclient binds it to a ip adress; 192.??.???.??

you'd think everything would be working fine then but, apt-get can't connect, let alone my browser.....

Does all this ring a bell to anyone?
