Need plug in for rhythm box or totem

Need plug in for rhythm box or totem

Dose anyone know where to get plug ins that will enable rhythm box and totem to play movies as well as support mp3 format

I'm using Sarge Debian with the 2.6 Kernel and remember that Ubuntu had a How to list that shown how to make rhythm box totem play mp3s but I'm not sure if Ubuntus method of installing plug ins will work with Sarge Debian any suggestions will be appreciated

Sorry for taking so long to reply back to this thread I posted this a long time ago no one answered I thought the forum was dead.

I have Debian running smooth it took a Long Long time to get the correct information about my computer settings and to get everything working just right. I'm afraid to do anything that will make me have to install Debian all over again.

Vinay what do you mean by
gstreamer-mad plugin

Apt get it ?

I was hoping that there would be a way to apt-get a MP3 and DVD player that already comes equipped with what ever is needed to make the MP3/ DVD player work right after it is installed. I've been wanting to download music and watch video clips for like a month now just haven't been able to find plug ins that are compatible with Debian and the ones I did find expected me to have a C+ compiler etc etc I don't know how to do all that fancy dan stuff Most people Don't lol thanks for the reply any help on how to go about getting a MP3/DVD player / plug in-s will be appreciated.

I don't know which one to choose theres are to choose from

I really hate to be such a Noob but every time I install something I find out latter that what ever it was that I installed was un compatible with with a package and my computer begins acting strange web pages load slow and I have to un install then re install Debian all over again gets old after a while I'll be happy if I can just somehow get a DVD player / MP3 player that is compatible with the packages on this computer as well as Gnome.

Is it possible to apt-get a MP3 / DVD player that is compatible with Gnome and that will work after I apt get it it's ridiculous to have to go through all this BS just to get a DVD / MP3 player to work the people who make these MP3 players should just make the damn thing work to begin with I haven't been able to watch video clips or hear MP3 s for over a month this is getting ridiculous

lol any help will be appreciated very much
