mozilla crashes after a few hours

this problem is pretty system critical to the project i'm working on.

I have

Debian sarge
kde 3.3
kernel 2.6.8

when you turn on the machine it automatically logs in and runs the mozilla browser in full screen mode. the default home page is localhost which is an apache server. the default home page is set to play a series of flash files in a loop. It all works nicely except i left the thing running over night and when i came back this morning the browser had frozen.

This machine will be left out on site where there will be no human interaction with it.. I need it to play the flash file in a loop without interruption

So i basically need to figure out

1. what is happening to cause it to stop (memory problems processor over load)

2. possible solutions... new kernel?...

Any ideas at all would be most great full.. this specially configured machine has taken quiet a while to develop.. this is literally the last hurdle.. its either solve this or use windows.

Ok been having a look at kde system guard..

seems the vmsize for the mozilla process is getting bigger and bigger all the time.

so i think this is called a memory leak.

that's all good and well but how do i do a work around to stop the memory leak or refresh the vmsize as it plays

any thoughts?

You could try if the same happens with firefox, or konqueror.

yea tried that.. same in both.. which leads me to belive it s flash plugin problem..

as a temp fix i set up a cron tab to restart mozilla every 2 hours or so.. not a good fix really but all i can do at the moment.
