Mouse goes wonky if I let it sit

I have debian 4.0 testing, running Gnome. I have a USB optical scrool-wheel mouse.

Everything works fine, as lone as I'm using it. But, if I leave the computer for about an hour, I come back and mouse isn't working.

I have tried to do a alt-ctrl-F1, then startx. But that doesn't work, I get lots of odd errors like "DEV NETWORK WATCHDOG."

Did you try unplugging the mouse from the USB port and then plugging it back in ?

Or is it that you move the mouse and the video doesn't wake up ?

Jumping back to the black screen with ctrl-alt-F1 or whatever is always worth a try. Then back to GUI.

Is the daemon configured to time out?
