memory split

Hi
I am upgrading my kernel and have this question;

High Memory Support
1. off (NOHIGHMEM)
> 2. 4GB (HIGHMEM4G)
3. 64GB (HIGHMEM64G)
choice[1-3]: 2
Memory split
> 1. 3G/1G user/kernel split (VMSPLIT_3G) (NEW)
2. 3G/1G user/kernel split (for full 1G low memory) (VMSPLIT_3G_OPT) (NEW)
3. 2G/2G user/kernel split (VMSPLIT_2G) (NEW)
4. 1G/3G user/kernel split (VMSPLIT_1G) (NEW)
choice[1-4?]:

I have 1GB or ram. what is this all about and how to respond to it?

thanks

Help is usually available in the config - looks like it is in this case.
Fore some background, read this.
