Making KDE translucent

I have knoppix 3.9, when I try to make KDE translucent I get this message :-

It seems alpha channel support is not available.

Please make sure that you have Xorg > 6.8 and installed the kompmgr that came with kwin.
Also make sure you have the following entries in your xconfig.
eg ./etc/X11/xorg.conf.

However I can not find this file. Is it the Xwrapper.config ?

You may have Xfree86 installed instead of Xorg.
