Locate files NOT used by packages

Theoretically every file in a debian system is part of a package..
Having said that.. is there any way to find every file say under the / mountpoint that DOESN'T belong to any package?

Thanks in advance

You could give cruft a try:
http://packages.debian.org/stable/cruft

sounds certainly a better solution than my:

find / -xdev -type f -exec dpkg -S {} \; | grep "not found"

which STILL runs :\

thanks jens.. i'll give it a look
