Lilo in Cryptic in Debian

Why do I see text files in /boot/ in a cryptic language? Is it a security measure or do I have to change something to see it properly?

What files are you talking about? Most files in /boot aren't text files (or shouldn't be) anyway. Could you paste an example?

boot-menu.b

Hi Strike,

I am talking about the boot-menu.b, boot.b files. I know that it is possible to edit menu.lst file comes with grub bootloader. Therefore I thought I can change edit boot-menu.b and add SuSE so that I could boot Debian, SuSE and WinXP. As you said, may be they are not text file.
Any way do you have any idea how I could edit Lilo boot loader so that I can change all three OSs on start up? I would rather prefer to use Grub boot loader comes with SuSE but I don't know how to edit that too:-(

Thanx

LILO's configuration is @ /etc/lilo.conf and you will want to run `lilo -v` after editing it.
