libqt4-gui missing in stretch

Hi,

I am trying to install a deb package which requires libqt4-gui, but it seems there's no libqt4-gui package in stretch repository.
When I googled 'libqt4-gui', this pacakge is shown upto jessie and sid.
Stretch has 'ligqt4gui', which looks like something similar, but I cannot use it anyway for the installation of my .deb file.
Where should I ask or report to have this type of missing package?

Thanks in advance!

Can you tell us what deb package you're trying to install that requires libqt4-gui. I can find no package in Stretch called "ligqt4gui" or "libqt4gui". Which package do you think Stretch has and why can't you use it?

Hi jdkaye,

This is the package that I am trying to install: http://information-technology.web.ce..._3_3_0_027.deb
Or you may want to see other packages from this website: http://information-technology.web.ce...ownloads/Vidyo

Sorry, I'm wrong that I saw 'libqt4-gui' exists in stretch release. It's not in stretch, neither.

This package, VidyoDesktop requires libqt4-gui, which was fine when I had jessie, but now I'm in stretch, so I am not sure what should I do to have this program.
Could you help me to solve this problem?
Thanks!

The package is not in Testing (yet).
https://packages.debian.org/search?k...ll&section=all

You could install it from sid and pin it until it reaches stretch.

EDIT: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugr...cgi?bug=787737 & https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugr...?bug=787737#15

Hi HeadOnAStick,

Thanks for reply and tip! I wasn't sure if it's possible to use sid packages but yes, I should try that!

The DesktopInstaller-ubuntu64-TAG_VD_3_3_0_027 that you're trying to download appears to be an ubuntu package. Perhaps you'll have to add some Ubuntu repos into your sources.list file.

I just tried to install copyq clipboard manager on latest Sparky Linux, and it produces an error "libqt4-gui missing".
I enabled sid repos and others, no change. I tried with online debian repository single package for stable (testing is not listed and sid links are dead), same story: when tried to load libqt4-gui.deb stable, just in case, "dependencies are not satisfiable" of course.

Maybe we should wait for sid/stretch package to appear.
It is unsolvable at this state I am afraid. I wish someone will say otherwise.

Update:
And, I found this too:
https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/qt4-x11
("Fails to build during reproducibility testing")
