Kernel Configuration

Hi,

does someone know how to configure the kernel (2.4.23) so that a normal user cannot switch into root mode by hitting the F5 key while the computer is starting?

thanks

err.. why?

How about using the root account or starting with init=/bin/sh if you need to get into the system without password at boot.

Ups, it was "cannot", not "can".. hmm..

the lilo trick can be disabled from lilo.conf. But it is even theretically hard to gain immunity against physical attack, so protecting against an user that has access to the power switch (what other way the computer got to the boot sequence in the first place?) is a lost game anyways.
