Is this an appropriate section to ask about Raspbian "bookworm"?

Is this a right section to ask about Rasbian "bookworm" dated 3-15-2024 ?

If it is, I have been been having configuration problems:

systemd-timesyncd keeps allocating port 53 (on all interfaces) for itself. And that is not even the proper port for ntp.

dnsmasq did not come with any "dnsmasq.conf" in any location I could find. And when I got a "dnsmasq.conf" for it, it ignores the file.

These problems are probably just me being unfamiliar with Debian derivatives. But could anyone advise me as to the solution(s)?

It seems to have some built-in, off-brand, modified version of dnsmasq which has material in /etc/NetworkManager/dnsmasq.d/ and /etc/NetworkManager/dnsmasq-shared.d/
I've had mixed results putting the configuration file(s) there. Some options seem to work, others don't.

I recall that Bullseye was better in that regard but the Raspberry Pi team is very small and has quite limited resources. So I get the impression they are putting those limited resources into Bookworm. They also have some internal problems as there are now microsofters on the board of directors and in other positions to do harm and derail progress.

They do have their own specific forums - https://forums.raspberrypi.com/index.php

My apologies, then. I did try to register at their forums before I asked here. But their registration process went into an endless loop, instead of sending me an account confirmation email it kept going back to the beginning and I never got their email.

Late light night I found a download of Bullseye in their "old stable" branch dated 2024-3-12 . So far, it seems to work very well, and does what is expected.

I guess maybe Raspios bookworm should be considered their beta branch, not really ready for general use.

Sorry, I didn't mean it was inappropriate to post here, just that they have their own forums where you might find answers quicker than asking here...

Not the answer you are looking for, I'd suggest using the version
directly from Debian not from raspbian.
Clearly not a great option if you have a well established install,
but if it's a fresh one, I'd highly recommend it.
See https://raspi.debian.net
