Is KDE 3.4 in the official repositories yet?

I have been unable to find KDE 3.4 in list of upgradable packages even after I have changed my default repositories from testing to unstable.

Is KDE 3.4 available in the unstable repositories yet? I don't want to install 3.4 from unrecognized or unofficial repositories. When is 3.4 likely to make it to Debian?

Thanks.

Is that an official repository?

I saw that thread before, but I want to upgrade normally as usual, not from unofficial ones. I am not sure whether that one is official or not. If not, I am willing to wait. Just curious.

Thanks.

Yes and no, it's not official, but it's from the Debian KDE team.

Is there any special reason why KDE 3.4 is yet to make it to "official" unstable?

The reason I ask is that it seems to have been there for quite a while now and I would have expected "unstable" to have this version available at least.

All attention is directed to getting Sarge out by the end of the month. Updates to unstable will have to wait. Make sure you subscribe to one of Debian's mailings, so you know what is going on at Debian. http://lists.debian.org/

KDE 3.4 from the alioth repository works fine under Sarge but is not without its bugs, which seems to be common for *.0 releases of KDE. However, these bugs are small compared to the improvements to 3.4. Be sure to add HAL, udev and pmount as well.
