HP2600n printing

I have installed a HP2600n on my home network, installed to foo2hp driver and setup Cups for this printer. I followed the instructions on this site http://foo2hp.rkkda.com/ I can print a test page from the cups page but I can not print a document or a webpage.
Any clues where to start looking.

I'm skeptical about instructions that say don't use the packages from your distro--download ours.

But regardless of how it's installed, you may need to enable the print queue. Try this (of course, substitute your printer name):
Code:
cupsenable printer
Also you can go to http://localhost:631/printers/ and start clicking.

thanks ken, I tried what you suggested but no joy yet. Unfortunately I have had 2 computers die within days of each other so my priorities have shifted

You don't list debian as your distro, but I'll assume you're in the right place ...

Code:
# apt-get install printconf
after debconf runs, your printer should work without further fuss.

printconf is for printers attached via parallel or usb? Our 2600n is connected via the network. It prints the test page beautifully but it won't print anything else.
I am currently using Debian so printconf was worth a try but no dice, yet, thanks

There's one cute little gotcha to check: if your print string is "lpr -P <printer>" make sure you have lpr installed, or change the string to "lp -d <printer>" ...
