I know much has been posted on getting the HP officejets to work and I have followed the instructions as I understand them. My printer config manager see's the printer and when I send test jobs they go into the printer que and then exit, but nothing comes out of the printer. I am connected via USB, I am using the HPIJS driver from the package install.

I have been trying for weeks to get this printer working, and my 7 year old daughter is very upset since it is our only color printer.

She and I appreciate any help you can provide.

I had similar problems with HP PSC 1315 MFD, but I have solved it.

Make sure the device URI is similar to
usb:/dev/usb/lp0

and *not* anything else! Only this works.

You might also want to try using the hpoj driver rather than the hpijs driver in case the above does not work.

In fact, I think scanning should work with the hpoj driver. Both drivers can coexist.
