grub stops at chainloader +1 loading xp

I used the beta installer from 7.04.04 installing a sarge system.
I took the installers advice installing grub to mbr.
Deb boots fine but choosing xp stops at a blank screen after "chainloader +1".
I've checked sample configs online and what Deb provided looks like it should work just fine.

thanks for any help

You must simply add the word "boot" to the xp-entry, just like debian-entries. That's all .

Well I was hoping for the best when I read the response at work.

But after adding boot it still doesn't work and adds 'filesystem type unknown, partition type 0x7'.

What Ive read so far is that its a bug in the beta installer.

If anyone knows a work around i would appreciate it.

Instead of root (hd0,0), try rootnoverify (hd0,0). That should get rid of the filesystem problem, (I hope).
