Gnome Menus Not Refreshing

Hi everyone,

I have recently installed Debian sarge and have run into a bit of a snag. I have installed some new applications and cannot figure out how to get them into the Gnome menu system. the applications show up in the "Debian Menu" but not in the "Applications" menu. Any ideas?

I think you need to have the fam daemon installed for menus to automatically refresh if a new app is installed. I know some distros don't use fam anymore, so I may be wrong.
