firewall problems in sarge

i just reinstalled sarge................i installed firestarter and guarddog...........both fail the ping test at www.grc.com.....................although i disabled ping

Do you have ICMP requests blocked?

I have ICMP filtering disabled in the settings. Seems a bit different than what I'd expected but it works.

thats what i did. i enabled ICMP filtering in guarddog and firestarter, and i also disabled ICMP in ethereal.........

no luck...........................i never had this problem before !

That's my point I disabled ICMP filtering. So maybe that works or it's something else.
