firestarter & internet connection sharing

hey

i have installed firestarter and configured it to share the internet connection to my lan. i have also configured dhcp through it.

the lan machines are getting there ip assigned fine, that is no prob.
its just they are not able to browse the net?

why is this?

i have read some of the info on the firestarter web site but still cannot find anything to solve the prob.

i'm not sure what happend now but even if i turn on connection sharing and click ok, get a message saying "failed to start firewall"
although the firewall does start i think just the connection sharing part fails

i'm confused... i used apt-get for it so i have got the debianised version of firstarter so there should be no issues. well hopefully someone can help me soon, i'm going away for the weekend.

(firestarter:11268): GnomeUI-WARNING **: While connecting to session manager:
Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed.
Firewall started
