i have etch installed. i recently set up a wireless network with using a Linksys WRT54G router and some linksys WMP54GR pci wireless cards.however etch does not recognize the wireless card. what do i have to do to get etch to see the wireless card. i think it is an rt6100. any help would be greatly appreciated.the other computers on the network are windows xp based.
You need a Linux compatible driver or you need to use ndiswrapper, which will allow you to use a Windows driver.
I'd do a Google search with "linux" plus the make and model of your wireless NIC. If there is a native Linux driver, you just need get the driver and then get it loaded (modprobe driver_name). If you have to use ndiswrapper, it has good documentation on its website.
It will easier if you have a hard-wired Internet connection you can use while sorting all this out.
