etch and mkinitrd

Hello,
I've just installed etch basic, then added x-windows and gnome-core. All went fine. I copied over a new kernel (the one I use on other PCs) installed the modules, then went to make the ramdisk. However bash reports mkinitrd: command not found.

Can anyone tell me what's gone wrong? Or where I'll get mkinitrd? Thanks

Try
Code:
apt-get update && apt-get install initrd-tools
This gives you the mkinitrd tool you need.
