Debian on Asus Pundit ?

Hi there,

I'm new to Debian, and I would like to install it on my Asus Pundit barebone sytem (later I would like to install MythTV on it).
I have tried to install it with the Sarge CD, but I could not find the driver that was necessary on the CD for the Ethernet Card (ATI IXP200 integrated MAC + RealTek 8201 BL PHY), so I could not continue the install ...
How can I install Debian on my Pundit without having to download the Woody CD's ?

Help me please !

Asus has downloads of Linux drivers here:

http://www.asus.com/support/download...undit&Type=All

I think (not certain) that the card should be supported already using the 2.6.x linux kernel. There is also a list of drivers for the Pundit here:

Thanx for the reply !

Is there a Sarge CD available for 2.6 ?
On the site of Debian I only saw a Sarge CD for 2.4 ...

I tried to download and install the Unstable version, but this CD doesn't want to boot ...

To get the 2.6.x kernel, boot the sarge CD with "linux26" or "expert26" at the prompt. If you use "linux26", it will follow the normal installation procedure with a 2.6.x kernel. If you use "expert26", it will go step-by-step through the installation and give you more options.

Thanx for the info about installing the 2.6 kernel.

I tried it, but apparently it's the same problem.
Everything goed well, until the detection of the Ethernet Card comes.
I get a list to choose from, but the ethernet card that is in my Pundit is not on the list

I am a total newbie to Linux and Debian, in the past I always uses Windows, and now I'm a bit confused about the complexity of it all
