Ctrl Alt F1 to F6 does not work

I am having the same problem. CTRL ALT F1 to F6 results in a Black Screen. CTRL ALT F7 goes back to the GUI desktop. I installed Fedora Core 4 on a Intel P4 mother board model D865GEF. Core 4 works fine on a P3 Intel board. I performed the above mentioned Grep command an all is ok there.
1:2345:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty1
2:2345:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty2
3:2345:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty3
4:2345:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty4
5:2345:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty5
6:2345:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty6

I think the problem is with on on-board video, it is not changing from X back to text mode for the terminal.
Any Ideas...billmax sends..9 Aug 05
