Hello
Well first of all this is my first post here, so hi everyoneand thanks in advance for your answers
I'm quite new to Linux, so please fell free to correct me if I write nonsense
I installed Debian 3.0r2 on a PC and have been using it as a gateway/DNS/DHCP server for 2 Windows-based PCs for a few weeks/months now, and everything is running quite smoothly. I am not really using it at its full, simply the way I want it to work for me.
The thing is now I would like to update it to get the last security patches, and the postfix mail server. My problem is that I cannot get apt to connect to any of the servers I put in my source list:
deb ttp://ftp.fr.debian.org/debian/ stable main non-free contrib
deb ttp://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US stable/non-US main contrib non-free
deb ttp://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib non-free
deb tp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/3.1.2/Debian/ stable main
It has been quite a while but I'm sure I used apt to get packages at the very beginning when I was installing the distribution. Now, it simply times out (sometimes getting a "wicked error"), and there is no way it can get through with the update/upgrade/getting packages.
My Internet connection is working fine, pings can get through, and trying to connect to the FTPs mentionned in the source list file works perfectly fine on an Internet browser on any of the two PCs connected behind the Debian gateway.
I don't really know where to start, so if someone could kindly help me find a way to move forward.
Thanks in advance
