Can the cd (not dvd) images be used as a repo.

Hello. I've run Debian quite a bit and know my way around fairly well. I've always downloaded the dvd image though and not the cd image. I am planning on installing the armel version of Wheezy onto my Pandora.
My first question is: i have used the dvd image as a repo in the past; if i install a minimal install, but i also have the cd image (not the dvd image) can i use the cd image as a repository?
I just want to make sure before i start downloading because i have limited bandwidth and i've learnt the hard way with Opensuse that the cd, live images can not be used as repos.

In debian the cd's are listed as cd-1, 2, 3, etc.so they can be used as repos but by the time you use there may be updates. If you start from cd-1 you can add cd2 & so on.
