As Debian a Driver for USB to IDE hardware?


Hello,

I wanted to install Debian on an old machine (laptop) that has no cdrom. I have this box to put the cdrom reader but it is not seen by the boot of plohttp://www.plop.at/en/bootmanager.html loaded from the floppy disk...

then I tried to plug this usb to another linux machine to put hte linux using it but linux debian testing does not see the harddisk into the q-tec ... :

any ideas how to

I tried with another harddisk (certainly less corrupted) and this one is seen by debian into my q-tec box.
It seems that the harddisk needs testdisk to be fixed


ON the other hand, when I take this corrupted and slot in into at the IDE place of a tower, so not usb2ide, it is seen... it seems that q-tec doesnot like defect harddisks... or well the driver for it is bit of low performances...
