Are Apache instructions current?

Does anyone know if the Apache instructions from the Apache site are relevant to the use of Apache2.2 in Debian 7?

If not, does anyone know which instructions should be followed?

I am asking this because I have read on the Internet a comment saying these instructions are outdated and I have spent a few days unsuccessfully trying to get apache2.2 working according to those instructions but using the Debian configuration files, I suspect my problem is in the configuration of
Code:
/etc/apache2/sites-available/default
not conforming to Debain 7 requirements.

Thank you for your help.

Take a look at:
https://www.digitalocean.com/communi...ts-on-debian-7
e.g. such remarks are related to your problems? And plse read the rest too.

@Kamal, great article but for forward compatibility with Apache 2.4 you should follow @monkeydump's advice and change step 4 to: sudo cp /etc/apache2/sites-available/default /etc/apache2/sites-available/example.com.conf @monkeydump's rightly points out that if you use Debian Jessie (the upcoming release) you'll get Apache 2.4 which requires ".conf" Debian Wheezy (the current stable) uses Apache 2.2 which doesn't require ".conf" but still accepts it.
PS: use your version of Apache in addition with this Google search down to narrow down my search
