I've added different backports to my sources.list
One of them is the KDE backport from KDE's homepage..
(since i dont have 5 post yet, i cant post the URL)
and when I run "apt-get update" it is ignored or at least the apt-get update function prints
"IGN: (insert the KDE download url here) stable/main
and when I apt-cache search KDE the X isnt found..
I think you'll have to do an apt-get install kdebase (or something similar) apt-get upgrade won't take you to newer versions of packages that have newer libraries, etc., apt-get dist-upgrade may do it but be careful that you don't remove a whole bunch of packages with apt-get dist-upgrade.
Thx for your reply, but if you read closely it isnt KDE and the installation af this that troubles me. Its backports in sources.list thats ignored in an apt-get update...
