Add DNS servers

How should I add DNS servers?

Should I edit /etc/network/interfaces and do something there? I have one DNS server there now, how do I add more? How is the syntax?

Thanks.

Get another computer or another ip address.

You didn't say why you'd want to do this, if you want to use it as secondary dns, best get another computer. The point of a secondary dns is to have a backup incase something happens to the first dns server.

I think you misunderstood me.

As far as I know, in Debian you can't just edit /etc/resolv.conf and add nameservers, because they won't be there after a reboot.

Anyway, I figured it out.

/etc/network/interfaces:

Code:
dns-nameservers 10.26.16.8 10.26.16.18

Also, you can add them to /etc/resolv.conf

Not always true.........If you're using the dhcpcd package, then you must add the -R switch to the dhcpcd command which prevents the daemon from replacing the /etc/resolv.conf file........
