Cool Accessing SAMBA shared folder through Ftp (PROFTPD)

to make the things easier:

I got a ftp server (proftpd on debian) on machine "A"

and I got a Samba Server (debian also) on machine "B" with a shared folder called "public"

how do I acess the shared folder via FTP?

I already tried the following command: mount -t smbfs //machine B/public /media/public
And the following message appears:

mount: speacial device //machine B/public doest not exist

but the folder public is already shared cUz I can access it using Windows XP

Any Ideas?

Wagner.

The short answer is you can't unless you also put an ftp server on Machine B. You might try mounting with smbmount or use "mount -t cifs" instead. Also, I assume the name "machine B" does not have a space in it (because you'll need to quote it) or use the IP address of Machine B instead.
